
The Siletz Tribal Charitable Contribution Fund distributed $231,298 to 55 organizations on Friday, May 2 at its quarterly award ceremony.
Second quarter grants went to 13 Lincoln County non-profits, including:
- Newport High School Grad Night Committee, $1,000;
- Parent committee of Siletz Tribal Head Start, $1,925;
- Agape Respite Care, Newport, $5,000;
- Alsea Valley Gleaners, $3,000;
- Altrusa International of Yaquina Bay, $1,200;
- Siletz Community Food Pantry, $9,650;
- Siletz Valley Fire Department, $7,300;
- City of Siletz Parks & Recreation Committee, $4,350;
- Coastal Voices, Newport, $3,700;
- Yaquina River Museum Art, $3,000;
- Eddyville Grad Night Committee, $1,000;
- Siletz Valley Friends of the Library, $1,637; and
- Yachats News/Lincoln Chronicle, $3,140.
The Tribe’s charitable fund board has distributed more than $18.2 million since its inception in 2001.
Eligibility from the charitable fund is limited to two categories — entities and activities located in the Siletz Tribe’s 11-county service area of Lincoln, Tillamook, Linn, Lane, Benton, Polk, Yamhill, Marion, Multnomah, Washington and Clackamas counties, and Native American entities and activities located anywhere in the U.S.
