According to the initial dispatch information, a male, had been denied the sale of a firearm due to a previous out-of-state felony conviction. The case is under investigation.

Narrative Summary
(ecrash) On 10/8/19 at approximately 11:15 pm I was dispatched to a vehicle verses elk crash which occurred on SR 229 near mile post 29. Unit #1, a red Chevy Suburban, was northbound negotiating back to back curves in foggy conditions when it struck a cow elk as it crossed the highway from east to west. The vehicle sustained heavy front end damage and had to be towed from the scene. The driver arranged his own tow with Rowley’s Towing. The elk was disptached by law enforcement and then harvested by the driver using an ODFW salvage permit.

Narrative Summary
Crash – On 10/9/19 at approximately 705AM a vehicle entering Highway 34 near milepost 13.5 did not yield prior to entering the highway. An eastbound vehicle swerved to avoid colliding with unit 1 (silver sedan). The eastbound vehicle (unit 2 red Ford) swerved and collided with westbound vehicle (Unit 3 Toyota). Unit 2 and Unit 3 sideswiped causing damage to the driver side of both vehicles. Driver of unit 3 was stuck in her vehicle. Fire personnel extricated her and she was transported to Newport Hospital. 4 occupants of unit 2 reported no injuries. Driver of unit 1 initially stopped and attempted to extricate driver of unit 3. Driver of unit 1 then fled the scene without providing any information. No vehicles were towed. Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office assisted at the scene. Central Coast Fire and Pac West assisted at the scene.
