YACHATS – A fledging chess club in Yachats is inviting players of any skill level to its next session Sunday, Aug. 13.
The Yachats Chess Club meets every other Sunday at 1 p.m. in the loft area above the lounge at the Adobe Resort.
Chess players of all skill levels are invited, said organizer Don Phipps. Chess club members play two games each and are encouraged to bring a board and pieces if they can.
There are currently six players on the group’s email list. “We’re hoping to get more local players involved,” said Phipps.
