YACHATS — Now that the Yachats Library has its first paid administrator, residents are invited to meet her at a casual meet-and-greet from 3:30-5:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 5 in the library, 560 W. Seventh St.
The library’s volunteer librarians will serve cake and beverages to introduce Traci Miller-Altson of Yachats, who became the library’s part-time administrator in mid-September.
A resident of Ocean View Drive, Miller-Altson has an extensive business background. Her hiring enables the Yachats Library to take advantage of state funding and grants available only when a paid employee is on staff.
The new administrator hopes to bring Yachats into one of the Lincoln County library district’s consortiums, which would allow patrons to access materials from other libraries’ catalogs.
The library itself is poised to begin a 1,300-square-foot expansion and remodel.
