Crash – Non-injury
Location 20 HWY, Mile post 25 25 WB, EDDYVILLE, LINCOLN OR USA 97343
Narrative Summary
(ecrash) On 6/12/21 at approximately 2:27 pm I responded to a two vehicle collision which occurred on US 20 near mile post 25. Unit #1, a green Geo Tracker, was eastbound and negotiating a curve when the front driver side wheel came detached and rolled into the westbound lane. Unit #2, a white Ford F250 hauling a 16 foot flatbed trailer was westbound when it was struck in the front passenger side bumper by the detached wheel. The Ford swerved and crashed into a concrete bridge abutment, flattening both passenger side tires and bending the axles of the trailer. The truck came to an uncontrolled rest on the westbound shoulder. No one was injured in the crash. During the crash investigation the driver of the Geo stated he had just purchased the vehicle in Newport and was driving it home to the valley. He stated he believed the front tire had no lug nuts and this is how it became detached. The truck and trailer were towed from the scene by Coast Towing.
