Narrative Summary
eCrash – On 2/5/21 at approximately 1:15PM a southbound pickup pulling a rowboat on a trailer, drove through the northbound lane, off the northbound shoulder and crashed head-on into a tree near milepost 111 of US Highway 101. The rowboat dislodged and came to rest in a resident’s backyard. The pickup crashed through a fence and prior to colliding with the tree. The truck and the trailer suffered substantial damage. Driver and passenger reported no injuries. Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office and North Lincoln Fire assisted at the scene. Owner of the vehicle arranged for a tow truck.

Narrative Summary
eCrash – On 2/6/21 at approximately 215PM a northbound vehicle slid and rotated in the rain and crossed the centerline near milepost 131 of US Highway 101. The vehicle collided head-on with a southbound vehicle. Unit 1 Gold Chevrolet pickup came to rest facing north on the southbound shoulder. Unit 2 Green Toyota SUV came to rest facing northeast in the southbound lane. Both drivers and a passenger of unit 1 were transported to the hospital in Newport with undisclosed injuries. Vehicles were removed by Coast Towing. Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office, ODOT, Depoe Bay Fire and Pac West ambulance all assisted in the incident. Driver of unit 1 was issued a citation for failure to drive within lane.

Log only: Unknown persons walking a dog on the beach west of Sandpiper Rd failed to control a dog, which bit a runner on the shoulder causing pain and bruising. The runner stated the dogs owners laughed at her plight and left without offering assistance when she photographed them with her cellular phone. Law enforcement responded and was unable to locate or identify the dog and owners. The runner did not seek medical attention.

A person called to report a theft from their vehicle. The caller stated they parked their 2003 Volkswagon Jetta on the gravel pullout for Moolack Beach access. The caller stated they arrived at noon and returned to find their rear window busted out around 2pm. The caller reported the theft of a rolling suitcase loaded with clothing and an additional bag containing toiletries. The caller valued her losses at $1000.00 not counting the damage to the vehicle. The appropriate charges if a suspect is located are theft and uemv. There is no suspect information.

Narrative Summary
On 2/7/21 at approximately 6:13 pm I conducted a routine traffic stop involving a white Cadillac on US 101 near mile post 114 in Lincoln City. Upon contact with the driver I observed numerous signs of impairment. The driver admitted to recent usage of cannabis. The driver consented to and performed poorly on SFST’s. The driver was taken into custody and transported to Lincoln City Police Department where he consented to a breath test rendering a result of 0.00% BAC. The driver provided a urine sample to be tested for presence of controlled substances. The driver was cited and released for DUII – Cannabis and Driving While Suspended Misdemeanor.
