**e-Crash**On 8/11/20 at approximately 1:40 PM I was en route code 3 back up request south of Waldport, OR. During this time Unit #2 (dark blue Honda CRV) was yielding on the northbound shoulder of US-101 MP 148. Unit #1 (white Nissan Frontier) was following too closely to Unit #2, and rear ended the vehicle. I found the damaged vehicles at approximately 2:43 PM, on my way back to Newport, OR. Both vehicles were drivable, and no occupants were injured.

**Log Only** On 8/11/2020 at approximately 3:16 OSP received a report of a possible domestic assault that occurred at Beverly Beach State Park. I arrived on scene at approximately 3:30 PM, with another OSP Trooper. After an interview with both parties, and neighboring campers it was determined no crime had been committed. OSP left the state park shortly after.

Narrative Summary
***E-CRASH*** On 08/11/20 at approximately 6:40 PM, a two-vehicle rear-end crash occurred on US-20 around milepost 2. Westbound Vehicle #2 (white Cruze) was slowing for stopped traffic ahead when westbound Vehicle #1 (blue Rav-4) crashed into the rear end of #2. Driver #1 reported dropping his vape pen and looking away from the roadway as reason for not stopping in time to avoid the crash. No injuries reported, safety restraints worn by all occupants, no airbag deployment. Vehicle #1 towed by Rowley’s Towing to South Beach. Driver #1 cited for Careless Driving-Accident.

Narrative Summary
The driver was northbound on US-101 when he lost control and overturned his vehicle into the northbound ditch. The driver was alone and transported to the hospital in Lincoln City with serious injuries. During contact with the driver it was determined he was under the influence of Alcohol and was also Driving While Suspended Felony for a previous Felony DUII. The driver provided a voluntary blood sample which was submitted to be tested for ETOH. The driver was cited in lieu of custody for DUII Felony, DWS Felony, and Reckless Driving. The vehicle was towed by Menefee’s Towing for safekeeping.
