YACHATS – The two spring break weekends in Yachats are busy with seasonal activities — a library book sale, arts and crafts fair and pancake breakfast this weekend and at the end of the month a popular crafts bazaar and art quilt show.
Timed to coincide with the start of Oregon schools’ spring break, the special fundraisers below all help support a variety of worthy causes.
Saturday and Sunday, March 21-22
Friends of Yachats Library Book Sale is 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday. Yachats Commons basement.
Book lovers will find more than 6,000 works of fiction and all varieties of non-fiction, from biographies to cookbooks, for $2, with a shelf full of special titles for $5. Jigsaw puzzles will also be available for $5, and children’s books for $1.
Cash is appreciated; credit cards are welcome. Shoppers are urged to bring shopping bags to hold their bargains; cloth bags are no longer for sale. Proceeds will support the Yachats Public Library’s new building on West Seventh Street. Friends of Yachats Library is a 501c3 organization, with a website here.
The annual Arts & Crafts Fair sponsored by the Yachats Chamber of Commerce is 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Yachats Commons.
This annual juried fair offers an abundance of locally made arts and crafts. Buyers can find unique goods ranging from fine art and pottery to jewelry, textiles, woodwork and one-of-a-kind gifts. The fair is the 54th annual and sponsorship by the chamber means free admission for all. For more information, visit the chamber’s website.
Sunday, March 22
The Yachats Lions Club Pancake Breakfast is 7:30-11 a.m. at the Lions Club Hall, 344 W. Fourth St. 7:30-11 a.m. The popular Yachats tradition continues with an all-you-can-eat breakfast of pancakes, eggs, sausage and ham, juice, coffee, tea and milk. There is a suggested donation of $10 for the club’s college scholarship and community grants programs.
Saturday and Sunday, March 28-29
The second Art Quilt Show of the season will be in the Yachats Commons from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Polly Plumb Productions presents an exhibit of artist-crafted quilts under the theme “Somebody Told Me … Communicating with Thread.”

Suggested donation is $5 to browse an impressive collection of textile works featuring Oregon artists from the Studio Art Quilt Associates, a worldwide nonprofit group that promotes the art of the quilt. It defines this fine art form as “an original exploration of a concept or idea rather than the handing down of a ‘pattern’.” The theme is intended to explore the impact of verbal communication on life and art. Some of the pieces on display may be available for purchase. For more information, visit the Polly Plumb website.
Yachats Ladies Club Spring Bazar & Bake Sale takes place in the clubhouse at 286 W. Third St. from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Fans of tasty treats and handcrafted items will find lots of both at this sale, another Yachats spring tradition. Homemade baked goods, including a variety of popular mini-pies, will be offered, along with knitted sweaters and accessories, home décor and gifts, homemade soaps, pet items, jewelry and more.
Also available will be tickets for the club’s 2026 Scholarship Quilt Raffle, the proceeds of which go to the club’s Oregon Coast Community College Scholarship Fund. The drawing for the quilt will be held in December. Most of the proceeds from the club’s bazaars, which take place throughout the year, benefit local nonprofits, including other local service organizations, food banks and the county animal shelter. For more information, visit the club’s website.
